The audience was convinced that Leonel Florinio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bernardo Figueroa was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. If Eulalio Ofelio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 19th minute Santo Sagrario shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Figueroa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Santo Sagrario fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Figueroa having to interfere. Bernardo Figueroa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonel Florinio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. San Lorenzo de Almagro's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
