Angelo Oro made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Santiago Indar sent off a good shot on target. Angelo Oro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santo Sagrario in the 10th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the game, Fidel Inguma was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. San Lorenzo de Almagro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mozambique the free kick. The supporters of San Lorenzo de Almagro booed when Mozambique was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolas Rocio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th minute, Leonel Florinio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Leonel Florinio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Santo Sagrario managed to get in a good position for a shot. San Lorenzo de Almagro's supporters rose to their feet, but Santo Sagrario was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Angelo Oro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 36 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo de Almagro's Santo Sagrario sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Angelo Oro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Leonel Florinio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Oro having to interfere. When Santo Sagrario fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored San Lorenzo de Almagro's protests and gave Santo Sagrario a yellow card for diving instead. In the 47th minute Santo Sagrario shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angelo Oro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Santo Sagrario to make the kick off. With a little luck, San Lorenzo de Almagro's Benedicto Millrick got control of the ball when Julian Restu tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Mozambique defense, Santo Sagrario kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Angelo Oro. The Mozambique fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Angelo Oro should have stopped the shot. Angelo Oro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santo Sagrario, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonel Florinio in the 59th minute of play forced Mozambique's goalkeeper Angelo Oro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christian Bittor got free with Benedicto Millrick in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Santo Sagrario had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leonel Florinio took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Angelo Oro. Angelo Oro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Santo Sagrario recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 74th minute, Leonel Florinio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The San Lorenzo de Almagro fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Leonel Florinio struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Angelo Oro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for San Lorenzo de Almagro. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mozambique's goalkeeper Angelo Oro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Mozambique's zone, Santo Sagrario stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Angelo Oro came out of the goal and Santo Sagrario tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Leonel Florinio came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the San Lorenzo de Almagro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leonel Florinio couldn't finish the play.
