Sérgio Valle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eusebio Ixidor in the 11th minute of play. Benjamin Mero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Simone Vergassola might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sérgio Valle. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. With an all-out effort, Luzuriaga FC's Sérgio Valle threw himself towards the right post 27 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eusebio Ixidor, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 29 minutes into the match, Luzuriaga FC's goal looked a bit too open when Paolo Incendio came free, but Pablo Txomin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lanús's Sérgio Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benjamin Mero in the 31st minute of play. Luzuriaga FC's Benjamin Mero got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 37 minutes, Simone Vergassola managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Luzuriaga FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Simone Vergassola was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 41st minute, Benjamin Mero left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Luzuriaga FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Candido Vitin kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Romulo Chale was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 46th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
The wind increased when Paolo Incendio made the kick off in the second half. Sérgio Valle was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benjamin Mero in the 56th minute of play forced Lanús's goalkeeper Sérgio Valle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Luzuriaga FC booed when Lanús was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe Martinez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 81st minute, Cayetano Txurio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Cayetano Txurio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sérgio Valle was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Luzuriaga FC's Simone Vergassola got a free kick in the 89th minute. 92 minutes into the match, Luzuriaga FC's Simone Vergassola sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sérgio Valle narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sérgio Valle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benjamin Mero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There was no doubt that Luzuriaga FC were the better team.
