Paolo Incendio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Virgilio Cordarius read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. With a little luck, Menga38's Virgilio Cordarius got control of the ball when Fausto Intxixu tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Lanús's Felipe Martinez got a free kick in the 34th minute. If Ariel Gartzea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Paolo Incendio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Virgilio Cordarius was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Paolo Incendio showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 48 minute of play.

When Felipe Martinez fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lanús's protests and gave Felipe Martinez a yellow card for diving instead. In the 53rd minute, Felipe Martinez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sérgio Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Intxixu in the 75th minute of play forced Menga38's goalkeeper Virgilio Cordarius to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ariel Gartzea struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Sérgio Valle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Menga38. Lanús's Paolo Incendio got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Ariel Gartzea came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Menga38 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ariel Gartzea couldn't finish the play. Ariel Gartzea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Sérgio Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
