Spectators: 7201 (Terracing: 5402, Seating: 1656, VIP seats: 143) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Alfredo Cordeal took the kick off in the first half of the match. The supporters of HDP booed when Benítez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enrique Hernando didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cleto Pacifico during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Joaquin Veremundo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Santiago Matai in the 11th minute. 12 minutes into the match, HDP's Alfredo Cordeal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joaquin Veremundo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Nestor Eneas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th minute, Filiberto Cordarryl made a precise shot to the right of Anastasio Gilen. HDP's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 20 minutes into the match, Cleto Pacifico had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joaquin Veremundo. Benítez's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cleto Pacifico was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Santiago Matai sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nestor Eneas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Anastasio Gilen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anastasio Gilen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filiberto Cordarryl, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. After 39 played minutes HDP got a freekick which was hit by Cleto Pacifico. A collision led to HDP getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Paolo Sindo hit a great ball. Alfredo Cordeal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Nestor Eneas made the kick off in the second half. Santiago Matai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Veremundo having to interfere. Enrique Hernando got his second yellow card in the match during the 63rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Enrique Hernando hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Santiago Matai managed to get in a good position for a shot. HDP's supporters rose to their feet, but Santiago Matai was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquin Veremundo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Santiago Matai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Joaquin Veremundo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Benítez's zone, Santiago Matai stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquin Veremundo came out of the goal and Santiago Matai tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Manuel Checa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 72nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Joaquin Veremundo. Benítez's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Alfredo Cordeal's late challenge caught a Benítez's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfredo Cordeal helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to HDP getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Alfredo Cordeal hit a great ball. If Filiberto Cordarryl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 79 minutes, Julio Txomin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Benítez's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julio Txomin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 79th minute, Marcelino Inge hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Filiberto Cordarryl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Filiberto Cordarryl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anastasio Gilen having to interfere. If Adrian Transito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Filiberto Cordarryl took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anastasio Gilen. Anastasio Gilen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. When the match was over Benítez could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than HDP throughout the match.
