The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 5 played minutes, Nueva Chicago's Roque Oroitz shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Paolo Pelayo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Nueva Chicago reached it. In the 9th match minute, CABLE PELADO FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillermo Otsoa to maneuver through the defense. Paolo Pelayo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Remigio Berdaitz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julian Alfonso struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Paolo Pelayo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nueva Chicago. If Remigio Berdaitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 20 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for CABLE PELADO FC! In the 23rd minute there was a penalty for Nueva Chicago. Roque Oroitz stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Paolo Pelayo. 0-1. Arnulfo Ipar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Benicio Eguntsenti tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the CABLE PELADO FC defense, Julian Alfonso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paolo Pelayo. The CABLE PELADO FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paolo Pelayo should have stopped the shot. 35 minutes into the match, CABLE PELADO FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nemesio Txanton came free, but Paolo Pelayo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Remigio Berdaitz came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Nueva Chicago fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Remigio Berdaitz couldn't finish the play. Paolo Pelayo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Alfonso, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Remigio Berdaitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Paolo Pelayo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Julian Alfonso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nueva Chicago's supporters rose to their feet, but Julian Alfonso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paolo Pelayo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Julian Alfonso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arnulfo Ipar was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Nueva Chicago's Nemesio Txanton got a free kick in the 52nd minute. After a rather tough play, CABLE PELADO FC's Anastasio Laurendi got a free kick in the 68th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Nueva Chicago's Roque Oroitz tried to score from far away in the 69th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. CABLE PELADO FC's Paolo Pelayo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Alfonso in the 78th minute of play. A collision led to CABLE PELADO FC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Anastasio Laurendi hit a great ball. Paolo Pelayo made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Remigio Berdaitz sent off a good shot on target. Arnulfo Ipar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benicio Eguntsenti having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Nueva Chicago's Francisco Velasco got a free kick in the 82nd minute. 1-3 became the score in the 88th minute when Julian Alfonso elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. CABLE PELADO FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 92nd minute, when Julian Alfonso scored to the left of an out of position Paolo Pelayo, making the score, 1-4. Paolo Pelayo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Alfonso's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Nueva Chicago had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
