Spectators: 6666 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1666, VIP seats: 0) Blas Gasteiz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Godofredo Arnas was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 12th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Orlin in the 13th minute of play forced Varela's goalkeeper Melchor Sazon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jorge Orlin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Melchor Sazon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Isidoro Lluis got his second yellow card in the match during the 22nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, Varela's Isidoro Lluis got a free kick in the 23rd minute. In the 24th minute of the match Godofredo Arnas sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Melchor Sazon skillfully saved the ball. Melchor Sazon came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Cerritos's Norberto Montay. But to his dismay, Norberto Montay quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Jorge Orlin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Melchor Sazon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Norberto Montay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Jorge Orlin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Melchor Sazon was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. When Norberto Montay came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Cerritos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Norberto Montay couldn't finish the play. Albano Maidana recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 47 minutes into the game, Nereo Gabon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Varela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cerritos the free kick. After 47 played minutes Varela got a freekick which was hit by Nereo Gabon. Norberto Montay kicked well hit freekick during the 49th minute of the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Blas Gasteiz to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Varela's goal looked a bit too open when Norberto Montay came free, but Melchor Sazon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Blas Gasteiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After recieving a nice pass, Cerritos's Godofredo Arnas tried to score from far away in the 60th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Varela's Nereo Gabon got a free kick in the 61st minute. Melchor Sazon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Orlin in the 62nd minute of the match. Norberto Montay struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Melchor Sazon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cerritos. Norberto Montay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Melchor Sazon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jorge Orlin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Varela booed when Cerritos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Honorato Geleberto didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 79 minutes, Salvador Tabor mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Varela and the Cerritos players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 82nd minute, Cerritos's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Blas Gasteiz fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Benedicto Lluc fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cerritos's protests and gave Benedicto Lluc a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Cerritos's Benedicto Lluc got a free kick in the 84th minute. 87 minutes into the match, Varela's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Orlin came free, but Melchor Sazon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Blas Gasteiz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varela's supporters rose to their feet, but Blas Gasteiz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zacarias Kimetz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 91st minute, Blas Gasteiz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Varela fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Melchor Sazon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Orlin in the 98th minute of the match. Cerritos were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
