After 2 played minutes Amaná got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Banegas. Niceto Edur could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Eustacio Macario made a huge save. Eustacio Macario stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Benicio Maxin's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. In the 16th minute Celso Martinez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eustacio Macario saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th match minute, Amaná was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeremias Nuno to maneuver through the defense. Maximino Gasteiz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benigno Oxel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Simon Kismi kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. After 30 minutes, Gustavo Hotz made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Amaná's Maximino Gasteiz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benicio Maxin in the 33rd minute of play forced 23 de Abril's goalkeeper Eustacio Macario to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 35 minutes into the game, Guillermo Banegas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Amaná's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave 23 de Abril the free kick. Guillermo Banegas kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benicio Maxin got free with Eustacio Macario in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, 23 de Abril's Amadeo Salvidor got a free kick in the 40th minute. Ariel Joachim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eustacio Macario having to interfere. When Amadeo Salvidor fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored 23 de Abril's protests and gave Amadeo Salvidor a yellow card for diving instead. In the 45th minute, Amadeo Salvidor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gustavo Hotz to make the kick off. After 51 minutes, Silvano Teofilio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Amaná and the 23 de Abril players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 56th minute Benicio Maxin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eustacio Macario saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Simon Kismi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 66 minutes into the match, Amaná's goal looked a bit too open when Gustavo Hotz came free, but Maximino Gasteiz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 72nd minute, Benicio Maxin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Amadeo Salvidor hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Benicio Maxin took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eustacio Macario. Eustacio Macario dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. After 83 minutes of play, Amaná's Benicio Maxin made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eustacio Macario was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benicio Maxin in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eustacio Macario prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Amaná were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing 23 de Abril to leave the ground with a draw.
