Saverio Elivareo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Angel Ruisko read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. 11 minutes into the match, Ranquilcó's goal looked a bit too open when Reynaldo Cebo came free, but Jairo Federigo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Viamonte's Reynaldo Cebo got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Saverio Elivareo came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Ranquilcó fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Saverio Elivareo couldn't finish the play. Ranquilcó's Saverio Elivareo got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A nice corner shot did that Oscar Milian got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jairo Federigo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After some careless play in the Ranquilcó defense, Reynaldo Cebo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jairo Federigo. The Ranquilcó fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jairo Federigo should have stopped the shot. If Gualterio Roderigo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jairo Federigo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gualterio Roderigo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Viamonte were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gualterio Roderigo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rolando Cordara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arsenio Ibon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angel Ruisko having to interfere. A collision led to Ranquilcó getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Justo Elequemedo hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ranquilcó's zone, Reynaldo Cebo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jairo Federigo came out of the goal and Reynaldo Cebo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gualterio Roderigo might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jairo Federigo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gualterio Roderigo ran back to his position shaking his head. Reynaldo Cebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Viamonte's zone, Arsenio Ibon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Angel Ruisko came out of the goal and Arsenio Ibon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Reynaldo Cebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Jairo Federigo made a huge save.
