After a defensive mix-up in CATISTIM FC's zone, Epifanio Txordon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfredo Evangelista came out of the goal and Epifanio Txordon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to CATISTIM FC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Erasmo Abaunza hit a great ball. In the last second Jonatan Leguizamón throw himself and got hold of the ball when Fernan Harriet in the 47thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. When Tostão Romero fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Poma's protests and gave Tostão Romero a yellow card for diving instead. Tostão Romero kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Epifanio Txordon to make the kick off.
