Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Tomas Marques got the match started through his kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Tomas Marques managed to get in a good position for a shot. Playback's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Marques was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anibal Arnas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gimnasia y Esgrima's attentive Igor Balesio managed to snatch the ball when Leon Frasco made a throw-in in the 25th minute of the game. Tomas Marques's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anibal Arnas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Enzo Vito got free with Anibal Arnas in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Playback's Carolo Hegoi got a free kick in the 31st minute. Jairo Poncio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugo Fliz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A sloppy throw-in by Leon Frasco in the 34th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Gimnasia y Esgrima's Vladimiro Licerio. 36 minutes into the game, Leon Frasco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Playback's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gimnasia y Esgrima the free kick. After 36 played minutes Playback got a freekick which was hit by Leon Frasco. In the 37th minute Cosme Chago shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jairo Poncio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 40 minutes, Cosme Chago mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gimnasia y Esgrima and the Playback players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 40th minute, Cosme Chago hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 43 minutes into the match, Cosme Chago had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jairo Poncio. Playback's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cosme Chago was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After the first half Gimnasia y Esgrima were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cosme Chago was the one to do the kick off. Tomas Marques blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Anibal Arnas having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Gimnasia y Esgrima's zone, Tomas Marques stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anibal Arnas came out of the goal and Tomas Marques tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpected shot in the 67th minute by Faustino Lorencio got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 82 minutes of play, Playback's Enzo Vito made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Anibal Arnas was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 85th match minute, Gimnasia y Esgrima was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardo Ospin to maneuver through the defense. After 86 played minutes, Playback's Leon Frasco shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Anibal Arnas came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Playback reached it. After 87 played minutes Gimnasia y Esgrima got a freekick which was hit by Cosme Chago. In the 95th minute, Leon Frasco sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Gimnasia y Esgrima's Anibal Arnas didn't even have to move.
