After a rather tough play, CA River Plate's Everardo Goiz got a free kick in the 4th minute. In the 6thth minute of the game Oscar Cordearo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CA River Plate's Filiberto Iyan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. David Rainerio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Oscar Cordearo in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Filiberto Iyan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gavino Olentzaro charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gavino Olentzaro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 12th minute, Gavino Olentzaro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oscar Cordearo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tadeo Montez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eloy Montae, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute, Eloy Montae ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tadeo Montez was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Gavino Olentzaro hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Tadeo Montez was a little too slow when Eloy Montae got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 37th minute. The score was now 2-0. Filiberto Iyan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severino Lopez in the 41st minute of play. Filiberto Iyan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Severino Lopez went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 47th minute, Gavino Olentzaro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eloy Montae fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tadeo Montez having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Severino Lopez was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, CA River Plate's Filiberto Iyan got control of the ball when Oscar Cordearo tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 59 played minutes CA River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Eloy Ermano. When Severino Lopez fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SANTA MARIA DE ORO's protests and gave Severino Lopez a yellow card for diving instead. Severino Lopez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Filiberto Iyan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Severino Lopez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filiberto Iyan having to interfere. SANTA MARIA DE ORO's Oscar Cordearo got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Oscar Cordearo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Filiberto Iyan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Severino Lopez struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Filiberto Iyan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SANTA MARIA DE ORO. If Gualterio Vellito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 77 minutes into the match, SANTA MARIA DE ORO's goal looked a bit too open when Gualterio Vellito came free, but Tadeo Montez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eloy Montae received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Tadeo Montez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Severino Lopez came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the SANTA MARIA DE ORO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Severino Lopez couldn't finish the play. Gualterio Vellito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Tadeo Montez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 85 minutes into the match, SANTA MARIA DE ORO's goal looked a bit too open when Eloy Montae came free, but Tadeo Montez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 91 minutes, Everardo Goiz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CA River Plate and the SANTA MARIA DE ORO players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Severino Lopez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tadeo Montez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eloy Montae in the 96th minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, CA River Plate could leave the field as winners, despite SANTA MARIA DE ORO having more of the ball for most of the match.
