The referee ignored La Armonía's protests and gave Wilfredo Tximitx a yellow card for diving instead. After 21 played minutes La Armonía got a freekick which was hit by Wilfredo Tximitx. Sheffield United's Hector Otsoko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raimundo Jerico in the 28th minute of play. After having played for 38 minutes, Herminio Estebano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sheffield United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Herminio Estebano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Godofredo Fernanco kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Herminio Estebano to make the kick off. In the 55th minute, La Armonía's Godofredo Fernanco ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Hector Otsoko. Hector Otsoko yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. With a little luck, Sheffield United's Hector Otsoko got control of the ball when Teo Gaztea tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 64 played minutes Sheffield United got a freekick which was hit by Fabian Gonsalve. After a rather tough play, Sheffield United's Gonzalo Hondo got a free kick in the 70th minute. La Armonía's Godofredo Fernanco suffered a concussion in the 72nd minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fabian Gonsalve during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
