An unexpectedly hard shot by Generoso Urdaspal in the 16th minute of play forced Picapiedras's goalkeeper Osvaldo Amato to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eliseo Fernandez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ciriaco Calixto in the 20th minute. Eliseo Fernandez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciriaco Calixto in the 25th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in La Caldera F.C's zone, Roberto Pirro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eliseo Fernandez came out of the goal and Roberto Pirro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adan Matia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Picapiedras's Ciriaco Calixto got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Roberto Pirro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 32ndth minute tested the skills of Eliseo Fernandez when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Generoso Urdaspal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 36th minute Ciriaco Calixto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseo Fernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 38 played minutes Picapiedras got a freekick which was hit by Bonifacio Playo. Osvaldo Bartolome hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Eliseo Fernandez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciriaco Calixto, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Generoso Urdaspal was the one to do the kick off. Roberto Pirro hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Erubiel Leoiar charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Erubiel Leoiar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 57 minutes into the game, one of Picapiedras:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Lino Iratxo took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Osvaldo Amato. Osvaldo Amato dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. A collision led to La Caldera F.C getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Americo Matthew hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Ciriaco Calixto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Picapiedras's supporters rose to their feet, but Ciriaco Calixto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eliseo Fernandez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eliseo Fernandez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roberto Pirro, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Generoso Urdaspal in the 77th minute of play forced Picapiedras's goalkeeper Osvaldo Amato to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Picapiedras's Osvaldo Amato got control of the ball when Adan Matia tried to sneak it across the goal line.
