Teodoro Benvide fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldo Amato having to interfere. Ciriaco Calixto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Saul Salvadore's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Osvaldo Amato read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. 36 minutes into the game, Picapiedras's Ciriaco Calixto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pastor Astigar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. A collision led to Picapiedras getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Alfredo Errolan hit a great ball. Picapiedras's Osvaldo Amato played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teodoro Benvide in the 48th minute of play. The Los Borrachos players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Picapiedras were winning 0-2.

Roberto Pirro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Picapiedras defense, Saul Salvadore kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Osvaldo Amato. The Picapiedras fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Osvaldo Amato should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Los Borrachos's zone, Roberto Pirro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pastor Astigar came out of the goal and Roberto Pirro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciriaco Calixto in the 71st minute of play forced Los Borrachos's goalkeeper Pastor Astigar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ciriaco Calixto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Orlando Leoncio charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Orlando Leoncio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 78th match minute, Los Borrachos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orlando Leoncio to maneuver through the defense. Picapiedras's Roberto Pirro got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodoro Benvide in the 82nd minute of play forced Picapiedras's goalkeeper Osvaldo Amato to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Los Borrachos's Teodoro Benvide in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Saul Salvadore received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Osvaldo Amato tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Picapiedras walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
