Seating: 1694, VIP seats: 147) Ostende's Pedro Indar started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Ciriaco Calixto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tadeo George was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. When Roberto Pirro came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Picapiedras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roberto Pirro couldn't finish the play. In the 16th match minute, Ostende was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardino Abalos to maneuver through the defense. Tadeo George took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciriaco Calixto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciriaco Calixto in the 25th minute of play forced Ostende's goalkeeper Tadeo George to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Osvaldo Amato made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Adan Bittor sent off a good shot on target. Pedro Indar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 30 played minutes Picapiedras got a freekick which was hit by Carolo Vachon. Osvaldo Amato came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Ostende's Adan Bittor. But to his dismay, Adan Bittor quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Ciriaco Calixto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Pedro Indar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Indar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldo Amato having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ciriaco Calixto made a kick off. If Adan Bittor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adan Bittor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Osvaldo Amato tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ostende's goalkeeper Tadeo George, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Roberto Pirro came free with the goalkeeper in the 71st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Tadeo George could save by the left post. The supporters of Picapiedras booed when Ostende was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuel Otoniel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tadeo George showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciriaco Calixto, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. 86 minutes into the game, Adan Bittor cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Osvaldo Amato was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Roberto Pirro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ciriaco Calixto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Tadeo George tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Ostende had won after a very even match.
