Lino Quilo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teodoro Benvide in the 3rd minute of the match. Lino Quilo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saul Salvadore in the 6th minute of play. When Damian Benitez came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Atahona fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Damian Benitez couldn't finish the play. Teodoro Benvide sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 15 minutes, Saul Salvadore managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Borrachos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Saul Salvadore was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lino Quilo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Saul Salvadore, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Saul Salvadore in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lino Quilo saved Atahona from getting behind. In the 20th minute, Lucio Fernado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Los Borrachos's Teodoro Benvide in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Atahona's goalie prevented a goal. In the 24th minute, Saul Salvadore left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Los Borrachos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 46thth minute of the game Teodoro Benvide who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atahona's Lino Quilo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

The wind increased when Teodoro Benvide made the kick off in the second half. When Damian Benitez came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Atahona fans jumped to their feet. Pastor Astigar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damian Benitez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Atahona's zone, Saul Salvadore stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lino Quilo came out of the goal and Saul Salvadore tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 69 minutes, Oscar Felipo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Los Borrachos and the Atahona players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 69 played minutes Los Borrachos got a freekick which was hit by Oscar Felipo. 70 minutes into the match, Atahona's Eriberto Serapio broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damian Benitez in the 72nd minute of play forced Los Borrachos's goalkeeper Pastor Astigar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodoro Benvide in the 73rd minute of play forced Atahona's goalkeeper Lino Quilo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Atahona's goal looked a bit too open when Teodoro Benvide came free, but Lino Quilo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Atahona's Nicanor Ostots got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Los Borrachos's Pastor Astigar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damian Benitez in the 82nd minute of play. Pastor Astigar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damian Benitez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Tiburcio Mikolas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicanor Ostots fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pastor Astigar having to interfere. The Los Borrachos supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Los Borrachos would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
