After a rather tough play, Picapiedras's Leonides Mino got a free kick in the 18th minute. Leonides Mino was shown his second yellow card after 21 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Picapiedras getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Leonides Mino hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Picapiedras's zone, Fernando Ortle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Osvaldo Amato came out of the goal and Fernando Ortle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Picapiedras's goalkeeper Osvaldo Amato, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 32nd play minute Gregorio Perrando came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Osvaldo Amato. 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Roberto Pirro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Picapiedras's supporters rose to their feet, but Roberto Pirro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
