Lino Quilo was a little too slow when Roberto Pirro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 41st minute. The score was now 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ciriaco Calixto to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute of the match Picapiedras got a corner. Atahona's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ezequiel Arias ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Ezequiel Arias almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Atahona's Lino Quilo did a great save. Roberto Pirro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicanor Ostots charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nicanor Ostots the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Atahona's Nicanor Ostots got a free kick in the 57th minute. Lino Quilo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciriaco Calixto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Bonifacio Playo came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Picapiedras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bonifacio Playo couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Roberto Pirro in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lino Quilo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Lucio Fernado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atahona's supporters rose to their feet, but Lucio Fernado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Osvaldo Amato breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 77 minutes of play, Picapiedras's Ciriaco Calixto made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lino Quilo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tiburcio Mikolas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 88 minutes, Paolo Romo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atahona and the Picapiedras players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Atahona fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 87th minute. Penalty! Ezequiel Arias placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Leonides Mino's late challenge caught a Atahona's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonides Mino helped the player get up and apologised. Leonides Mino kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Picapiedras were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Atahona for a fine match.
