Without hesitation aimed to the right of Honorio Tabby, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. With his leg Honorio Tabby managed to avoid a goal in the 8thth minute, when Haile Selassie's Arnoldo Cidro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of Haile Selassie booed when Cerrillos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baldomiro Fanuco didn't get a good kick on the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Cerrillos's goal looked a bit too open when Arnoldo Cidro came free, but Honorio Tabby reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute, Cerrillos's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Zacarias Maties fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonel Gudesteo in the 30th minute of play forced Haile Selassie's goalkeeper Dante Oinatz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Honorio Tabby made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zacarias Maties in the 33rd minute. Baldomiro Fanuco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Dante Oinatz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Leonel Gudesteo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Honorio Tabby made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Irinel Jienescu in the 41st minute of play. After having played for 42 minutes, Arnoldo Cidro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Haile Selassie's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arnoldo Cidro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With his leg Honorio Tabby managed to avoid a goal in the 44thth minute, when Haile Selassie's Arnoldo Cidro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Arnoldo Cidro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arnoldo Cidro to make the kick off. Honorio Tabby showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Irinel Jienescu in the 53rd minute of the match. Cerrillos's Honorio Tabby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Irinel Jienescu in the 54th minute of play. Dante Oinatz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonel Gudesteo, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Jairo Vimaro lost his temper 61 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 61st minute of the game. One of Haile Selassie:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cerrillos:s goal. Irinel Jienescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Honorio Tabby having to interfere. Dante Oinatz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonel Gudesteo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Leonel Gudesteo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cerrillos's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonel Gudesteo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dante Oinatz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Honorio Tabby stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Arnoldo Cidro's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. In the 74th minute, Irinel Jienescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cerrillos's Honorio Tabby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnoldo Cidro in the 76th minute of play. After 77 minutes Cerrillos's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Irinel Jienescu who took care of the corner kick. In the 78th minute, Leonel Gudesteo fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Irinel Jienescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Haile Selassie's supporters rose to their feet, but Irinel Jienescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Honorio Tabby breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Honorio Tabby came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Haile Selassie's Arnoldo Cidro. But to his dismay, Arnoldo Cidro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Irinel Jienescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Honorio Tabby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Irinel Jienescu scored 3-0 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Honorio Tabby, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Irinel Jienescu came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Haile Selassie fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Irinel Jienescu couldn't finish the play. Honorio Tabby showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnoldo Cidro, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Haile Selassie's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
