Nicasio Gar was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Celso Calvino showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 9 minute of play. 12 minutes into the game, Amancio Oinaz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lakers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Macapillo FC the free kick. After 12 played minutes Lakers got a freekick which was hit by Amancio Oinaz. Celso Calvino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicasio Gar having to interfere. Edgardo Elodio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Godofredo Blasi went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 19th minute, Amancio Oinaz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 22nd minute Gerardo Medero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgardo Elodio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Lakers's goalkeeper Nicasio Gar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aurelio Vergaray. Nicasio Gar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celso Calvino in the 29th minute of play. When Macapillo FC's Celso Calvino in 90 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Nicasio Gar guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. After 99 minutes, Generoso Arano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lakers and the Macapillo FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The Lakers supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Lakers would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
