The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ismael Chus showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Astor Elazar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgilio Lapurdi in the 39th minute of play forced elasmopalpus's goalkeeper Santo Rito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aristides Oihenarte hit a great freekick 49 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Astor Elazar made a kick off. After having played for 56 minutes, Astor Elazar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. elasmopalpus's supporters crossed their fingers, but Astor Elazar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 60th match minute, elasmopalpus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ramon Pierres to maneuver through the defense.
