An unexpectedly hard shot by Celso Calvino in the 21st minute of play forced Barrio Latino's goalkeeper Hugo Fagildo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 22 played minutes Barrio Latino got a freekick which was hit by Aquilino Sugoi. Aquilino Sugoi hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Hugo Fagildo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aurelio Vergaray, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Barrio Latino's zone, Celso Calvino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hugo Fagildo came out of the goal and Celso Calvino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hugo Fagildo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celso Calvino, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. After some careless play in the Barrio Latino defense, Celso Calvino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hugo Fagildo. The Barrio Latino fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hugo Fagildo should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Macapillo FC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Faustino Laurin hit a great ball. The supporters of Macapillo FC booed when Barrio Latino was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. After a rather tough play, Macapillo FC's Faustino Laurin got a free kick in the 56th minute.
