The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Godofredo Blasi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lakers's supporters rose to their feet, but Godofredo Blasi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ismael Chus breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Gerardo Medero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gerardo Mederos short, quick shot in the 8thth minute got Ismael Chus to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 9 minutes into the game, Virgilio Lapurdi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Nicasio Gar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Gerardo Medero came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Lakers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gerardo Medero couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Virgilio Lapurdi in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nicasio Gar saved Lakers from getting behind. If Godofredo Blasi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Godofredo Blasi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Virgilio Lapurdi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 31st match minute, Lakers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamin Rencio to maneuver through the defense. Nicasio Gar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonio Perico in the 32nd minute of play. A collision led to Deportivo Mandiyu getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Aristides Oihenarte hit a great ball. The corner ended in Generoso Arano almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Deportivo Mandiyu's Ismael Chus did a great save. Virgilio Lapurdi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ismael Chus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Godofredo Blasi in the 44th minute of play. In the 46th match minute, Deportivo Mandiyu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Severino Olando to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Virgilio Lapurdi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgilio Lapurdi in the 51st minute of play forced Lakers's goalkeeper Nicasio Gar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 54th match minute, Lakers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Freddy Darien to maneuver through the defense. 55 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Deportivo Mandiyu's Virgilio Lapurdi fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Mandiyu's zone, Godofredo Blasi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ismael Chus came out of the goal and Godofredo Blasi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Antonio Perico received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Nicasio Gar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ismael Chus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerardo Medero, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. 78 minutes into the match, Deportivo Mandiyu's Virgilio Lapurdi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nicasio Gar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lakers's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Virgilio Lapurdi 80 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Godofredo Blasi in the 83rd minute of play forced Deportivo Mandiyu's goalkeeper Ismael Chus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Antonio Perico's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 85thth minute, Nicasio Gar skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Ismael Chus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerardo Medero, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. If Gerardo Medero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Godofredo Blasi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Deportivo Mandiyu players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
