The Los Troncos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Tomás Nafarroa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victoriano Amato in the 30th minute of the match. In the 34th minute of the match Tomas Marques shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Angelino Azubeli showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After having played for 38 minutes, Victoriano Amato managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Leverkusen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Victoriano Amato was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Epifanio Rutenio's late challenge caught a Los Troncos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Epifanio Rutenio helped the player get up and apologised. In the 47th match minute, FC Leverkusen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Epifanio Rutenio to maneuver through the defense. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Leonardo Oliverios to strike the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leonardo Oliverios in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Angelino Azubeli prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Victoriano Amato came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the FC Leverkusen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Victoriano Amato couldn't finish the play. Teodoro Tonio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomás Nafarroa having to interfere. Los Troncos's Tomás Nafarroa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teodoro Tonio in the 77th minute of play. Leonardo Oliverios recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Los Troncos's zone, Victoriano Amato stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomás Nafarroa came out of the goal and Victoriano Amato tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 97th minute, Victoriano Amato ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tomás Nafarroa was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. FC Leverkusen's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
