Greenfield's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. When Jonatan Rivas fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Universitario's protests and gave Jonatan Rivas a yellow card for diving instead. Raimundo Francis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 13 minutes, Jonatan Rivas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Universitario's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jonatan Rivas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Silverio Edwardo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raimundo Francis in the 14th minute of play. Raimundo Francis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Silverio Edwardo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adolfo Jaunzuria's late challenge caught a Universitario's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adolfo Jaunzuria helped the player get up and apologised. Leopoldo Joey took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 25th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Silverio Edwardo. Greenfield's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, Greenfield's goal looked a bit too open when Raimundo Francis came free, but Silverio Edwardo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonatan Rivas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Silverio Edwardo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Universitario's Raimundo Francis got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jonatan Rivas took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Silverio Edwardo. Silverio Edwardo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After the first half Universitario were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Raimundo Francis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Marco Martxot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseo Mero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Greenfield getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Prospero Procopio hit a great ball. Raimundo Francis struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Silverio Edwardo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Universitario. In the 58th minute, Raimundo Francis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 62nd match minute, Greenfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adolfo Jaunzuria to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Universitario's zone, Mauro Raphael stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eliseo Mero came out of the goal and Mauro Raphael tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonatan Rivas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Silverio Edwardo having to make a save. Thanks to some nice moves Jonatan Rivas could shoot a difficult shot in the 79th minute, which Silverio Edwardo however easily saved by the left post. 80 minutes in the game, Raimundo Francis dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. If Raimundo Francis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raimundo Francis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 88 minutes into the match, Jonatan Rivas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Silverio Edwardo. Greenfield's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jonatan Rivas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Silverio Edwardo came out of the goal and Raimundo Francis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Atilano Ciano charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Atilano Ciano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Atilano Ciano hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. In the 96th minute, Ildefonso Quico got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the final whistle sounded Universitario left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Greenfield.
