The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Tacurales AFC booed when FC LIONS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Prudencio Tolino didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Ovidio Iratzeder fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tacurales AFC's protests and gave Ovidio Iratzeder a yellow card for diving instead. In the 5th match minute, Tacurales AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ovidio Iratzeder to maneuver through the defense. Remigio Favila showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benicio Tabb in the 8th minute of the match. FC LIONS's Benicio Tabb got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 14 minutes into the match, Tacurales AFC's Rogelio Cheche sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dario Gonzalez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Godofredo Llope in the 17th minute of play forced Tacurales AFC's goalkeeper Remigio Favila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Godofredo Llope received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Remigio Favila tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lucio Ur in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dario Gonzalez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 34th minute, Ovidio Iratzeder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ermegildo Celino, 34 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 42nd minute, Rogelio Cheche got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Tacurales AFC's Manuel Ieltxu got a free kick in the 45th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Benicio Tabb stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Remigio Favila made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Godofredo Llope sent off a good shot on target. If Lucio Ur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 63 minutes into the match, Tacurales AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Benicio Tabb came free, but Remigio Favila reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dario Gonzalez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucio Ur, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rogelio Cheche received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Dario Gonzalez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lucio Ur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rogelio Cheche sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 87th minute, Benicio Tabb reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Remigio Favila. The goal made the score 0-1. Lucio Ur fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dario Gonzalez having to interfere. 92 minutes into the match, Tacurales AFC's Rogelio Cheche sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dario Gonzalez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched FC LIONS eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
