If Honorato Leobardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rigoberto Cresenciano hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrique Gipuzkoa in the 14th minute of play forced Lagunillas's goalkeeper Nicolas Oihenarte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th minute, Honorato Leobardo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Enrique Gipuzkoa came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Almafuerte fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Enrique Gipuzkoa couldn't finish the play. 20 minutes into the match, Almafuerte's Enrique Gipuzkoa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nicolas Oihenarte narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nicolas Oihenarte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enrique Gipuzkoa in the 26th minute of play. With a little luck, Almafuerte's Marciano Cordara got control of the ball when Daniel Tabby tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marciano Cordara was a little too slow when Rigoberto Cresenciano got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 30th minute. The score was now 1-2. Nicolas Oihenarte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enrique Gipuzkoa in the 34th minute of the match. Nicolas Oihenarte stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Enrique Gipuzkoa's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Enrique Gipuzkoa in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nicolas Oihenarte saved Lagunillas from getting behind. Haroldo Odol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th minute, Cirilo Fliz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 41 minutes into the match, Lagunillas's goal looked a bit too open when Enrique Gipuzkoa came free, but Nicolas Oihenarte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 43rd minute of the game. One of Lagunillas:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Almafuerte:s goal. The referee gave Almafuerte a penalty, 45 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Enrique Gipuzkoa, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Lagunillas's Nicolas Oihenarte. 1-3. After the first half Almafuerte were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 52nd minute Severino Gil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolas Oihenarte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Enrique Gipuzkoa who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 56thth minute tested the skills of Nicolas Oihenarte when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 58th match minute, Lagunillas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horacio Aznaro to maneuver through the defense. 59 minutes into the match, Lagunillas's goalkeeper Nicolas Oihenarte had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Enrique Gipuzkoa. The crowd rose to their feet as Almafuerte's Ruben Ibon slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nicolas Oihenarte. That made the score 1-4 after 67 minutes of play. Marciano Cordara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rigoberto Cresenciano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Enrique Gipuzkoa came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Almafuerte fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Enrique Gipuzkoa couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Ruben Ibon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Almafuerte's supporters rose to their feet, but Ruben Ibon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicolas Oihenarte breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lagunillas's Nicolas Oihenarte proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Lagunillas from getting a goal against them. Almafuerte played a much better game than Lagunillas and deserved their victory. The Lagunillas players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
