The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Roque Haitz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benicio Tabb in the 5th minute of play. After having played for 9 minutes, Ovidio Bela managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mapis AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ovidio Bela was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, FC LIONS's Dario Gonzalez got control of the ball when Ovidio Bela tried to sneak it across the goal line. Haroldo Osorio charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Haroldo Osorio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 13th minute, Haroldo Osorio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 14 minutes into the match, Aldo Semeno notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of FC LIONS's Dario Gonzalez. Dario Gonzalez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, FC LIONS's Prudencio Tolino got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 22nd minute, FC LIONS's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ovidio Bela fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Godofredo Llope struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Roque Haitz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC LIONS. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aldo Semeno in the 33rd minute of play forced FC LIONS's goalkeeper Dario Gonzalez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mapis AFC's Roque Haitz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Godofredo Llope in the 37th minute of play. Pascual Rius hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benicio Tabb to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Prudencio Tolino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC LIONS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mapis AFC the free kick. Prudencio Tolino hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. FC LIONS's Dario Gonzalez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aldo Semeno in the 57th minute of play. Severiano Casado's late challenge caught a Mapis AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Severiano Casado helped the player get up and apologised. Severiano Casado kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Aldo Semeno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dario Gonzalez having to interfere. Benicio Tabb fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roque Haitz having to interfere. If Godofredo Llope had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Mapis AFC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Rolando Frechoso hit a great ball. Dario Gonzalez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ovidio Bela in the 90th minute of play. The supporters of Mapis AFC booed when FC LIONS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Haroldo Osorio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 93rd minute of the match Eustaquio Silban shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dario Gonzalez showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 95th minute, Godofredo Llope got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the FC LIONS players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Mapis AFC.
