In the 18th minute Gogo Peter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo Montez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 19th minute, Omar Stephen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gogo Peter in the 21st minute of play forced Atlanta FC's goalkeeper Gustavo Montez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th match minute, Zubiaurre FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filiberto Neron to maneuver through the defense. Atlanta FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Astor Nalo in the 26th minute. When Alejo Farias fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atlanta FC's protests and gave Alejo Farias a yellow card for diving instead. Alejo Farias kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Omar Stephen couldn't finish the play. 38 minutes into the game, Virgilio Pedroso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Atlanta FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zubiaurre FC the free kick. 39 minutes into the match, Zubiaurre FC's Rosendo Mercurio broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Virgilio Pedroso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlanta FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Virgilio Pedroso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vladimiro Hodei breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gogo Peter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Gustavo Montez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jeronimo Txaran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

With his leg Gustavo Montez managed to avoid a goal in the 94thth minute, when Zubiaurre FC's Filiberto Neron fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Lázaro Tartalo fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atlanta FC's protests and gave Lázaro Tartalo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 94th minute, Lázaro Tartalo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gustavo Montez made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Omar Stephen sent off a good shot on target. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
