Rio Cuarto's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jairo Peruxu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Marciano Rico might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Esteban Ramone. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marciano Rico ran back to his position shaking his head. Marcos Misael showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian Jon, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. If Jairo Peruxu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

60 minutes in the game, Alfredo Frederico fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Esteban Ramone having to interfere. Esteban Ramone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jairo Peruxu in the 64th minute of play. Marcos Misael showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christian Jon in the 71st minute of the match. Esteban Ramone made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marciano Rico in the 73rd minute. Jairo Peruxu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Esteban Ramone read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. The Caleufú FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Caleufú FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
