Leopoldo Corderall didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peña AFC's Prospero Mitxaut proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Peña AFC from getting a goal against them. In the 19th match minute, Mariño AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Santiago Cordeiro to maneuver through the defense. After 46 minutes, Roman Ermengol mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Peña AFC and the Mariño AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Clemente Dacio to make the kick off. Mariño AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filomeno Isias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Peña AFC's Rosendo Quinton got a free kick in the 55th minute. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mariño AFC's goalkeeper Ruperto Felipillo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Prospero Mitxaut took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Inocencio Bernaldo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Peña AFC's zone, Inocencio Bernaldo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Prospero Mitxaut came out of the goal and Inocencio Bernaldo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, Paulino Nuñez took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Ruperto Felipillo to make any attempt to save it. After a rather tough play, Mariño AFC's Leopoldo Corderall got a free kick in the 95th minute. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Peña AFC's Clemente Dacio in the 96th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Ruperto Felipillo was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Mariño AFC through an amazing save. The Peña AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Peña AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
