Ciro Berdaitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Joaquin Astrada came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Esther fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joaquin Astrada couldn't finish the play. 12 minutes into the match, Esther's goal looked a bit too open when Gualterio Lamberto came free, but Arnulfo Chumo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joaquin Astrada's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 13thth minute, Dionisio Ekhi skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Joaquin Astrada fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dionisio Ekhi having to interfere. Paulo Ubarna's late challenge caught a Esther's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paulo Ubarna helped the player get up and apologised. Paulo Ubarna hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Esther's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomás Bakar in the 19th minute. The corner ended in Tomás Bakar almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Monserrat FC's Dionisio Ekhi did a great save. Arnulfo Chumo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Faustino Hermon, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Artemio Ilazki hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Joaquin Astrada fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dionisio Ekhi having to interfere. 29 minutes into the match, Monserrat FC's goalkeeper Dionisio Ekhi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joaquin Astrada. After a rather tough play, Esther's Tomás Bakar got a free kick in the 31st minute. Dionisio Ekhi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciro Berdaitz in the 34th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joaquin Astrada in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dionisio Ekhi saved Monserrat FC from getting behind. Gualterio Lamberto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Arnulfo Chumo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Monserrat FC's Dionisio Ekhi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Monserrat FC from getting a goal against them.

The wind increased when Ciro Berdaitz made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Ubarna in the 51st minute of play forced Esther's goalkeeper Arnulfo Chumo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joaquin Astrada received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Dionisio Ekhi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dionisio Ekhi came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Esther's Joaquin Astrada. But to his dismay, Joaquin Astrada quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Ciro Berdaitz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dionisio Ekhi having to interfere. If Gualterio Lamberto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With an all-out effort, Monserrat FC's Arnulfo Chumo threw himself towards the right post 74 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gualterio Lamberto, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Faustino Hermon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnulfo Chumo having to interfere. Dionisio Ekhi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquin Astrada, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ciro Berdaitz took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dionisio Ekhi. Dionisio Ekhi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Dionisio Ekhi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquin Astrada in the 95th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Esther fans cheered their team off the field, for while Monserrat FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
