Carlos Urbasa's late challenge caught a River Plate's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. River Plate's supporters rose to their feet, but Justo Eate was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gustavo Mincho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Conrado Macias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valentin Mergildo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Conrado Macias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valentin Mergildo in the 43rd minute of play. In the 45th minute of the match Saavedra Unido got a corner. River Plate's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Aquilino Servando ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpected shot in the 48th minute by Justo Eate got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Isidoro Quexal went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Isidoro Quexal got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gustavo Mincho quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 96th minute, Domingo Jakue made a precise shot to the right of Conrado Macias. River Plate's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. The River Plate supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Saavedra Unido's performance. The match ended with a win for Saavedra Unido.
