It was Isidoro Quexal who took care of the corner kick. 18 minutes into the game, Anier Cebo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Angel Loi. Anier Cebo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Maximo Salbatore during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Maximo Salbatore hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 25th minute, Anier Cebo fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Angel Loi, passed just outside the right post. Anier Cebo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Angel Loi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 46 minutes, Astor Izel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chepes and the River Plate players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Chepes's Astor Izel got a free kick in the 47th minute.

The wind increased when Geronimo Iyan made the kick off in the second half. When Honorato Iyan came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Chepes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Honorato Iyan couldn't finish the play. Cecilio Quinten kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. After 58 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Zacarias Acuña. Honorato Iyan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Conrado Macias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chepes's Angel Loi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anier Cebo in the 83rd minute of play. The supporters of River Plate booed when Chepes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Americo Asier didn't get a good kick on the ball. River Plate's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
