An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Tallia in the 3rd minute of play forced Deportivo Azul's goalkeeper Humberto Arias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cleto Bernad fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hipolito Rosalio having to interfere. In the 12th minute Felix Tallia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Humberto Arias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Club Social & Cultural booed when Deportivo Azul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zacarias Eron didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 14th minute, Feliciano Hitz sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Deportivo Azul's Humberto Arias didn't even have to move. Guido Horado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hipolito Rosalio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. Hipolito Rosalio made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Guido Horado sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Deportivo Azul getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Zacarias Eron hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute of the match Feliciano Hitz sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Humberto Arias skillfully saved the ball. Deportivo Azul's Humberto Arias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rosendo Miro in the 41st minute of play. 42 minutes into the game, Felix Tallia cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Humberto Arias was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Felix Tallia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Deportivo Azul's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Tallia came free, but Humberto Arias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 56th minute, Cleto Bernad left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Deportivo Azul fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 60th minute, Felix Tallia reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Humberto Arias. The goal made the score 1-2. Alfonso Maju's late challenge caught a Deportivo Azul's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfonso Maju helped the player get up and apologised. 72 minutes into the match, Deportivo Azul's goalkeeper Humberto Arias had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rosendo Miro. In the 81st minute, Cornelio Estebe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Deportivo Azul's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Reynaldo Truylos in the 83rd minute. Santo Rami made a great header on Deportivo Azul's corner, it was just that Club Social & Cultural's Hipolito Rosalio managed to reach the ball for a save. After having played for 86 minutes, Felix Tallia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Social & Cultural's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Tallia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Club Social & Cultural's Hipolito Rosalio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cleto Bernad in the 90th minute of play. When Cleto Bernad came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Deportivo Azul fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cleto Bernad couldn't finish the play. Hipolito Rosalio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guido Horado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Cleto Bernad came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Deportivo Azul fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cleto Bernad couldn't finish the play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Club Social & Cultural had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
