The referee showed Eduardo Selmo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 18th match minute, Llevallol was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eduardo Selmo to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Llevallol booed when Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustavo Timo didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cecilio Munio in the 26th minute of play forced Llevallol's goalkeeper Guido Elequemedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Llevallol getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Apolo Lizar hit a great ball. Apolo Lizar succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 29th playminute. Eduardo Selmo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Independiente's Gustavo Timo got a free kick in the 36th minute. A sloppy throw-in by Apolo Lizar in the 44th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Independiente's Gustavo Timo. Llevallol's Guido Elequemedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Timo in the 44th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Gustavo Timo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Apolo Lizar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gerardo Pueblo fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 57th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gustavo Timo during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 59th minute, Gustavo Timo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 64th minute there was a penalty for Llevallol. Prospero Guzman stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Herminio Admon. 2-0. Humberto Cordaryal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Guido Elequemedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guido Elequemedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustavo Timo in the 70th minute of play. Eduardo Selmo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herminio Admon having to interfere. After some careless play in the Llevallol defense, Cecilio Munio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Guido Elequemedo. The Llevallol fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Guido Elequemedo should have stopped the shot. Benigno Polo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 82nd minute, Humberto Cordaryal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Llevallol's Prospero Guzman took a good shot, in the 83rd minute, which hit the crossbar above Herminio Admon's head, and flew over the goal. Independiente's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Llevallol. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Independiente's goalkeeper Herminio Admon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gustavo Timo struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Guido Elequemedo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independiente.
