But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donato Elodio couldn't finish the play. Douglas Haig's supporters crossed their fingers, but Agustin Ortzi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 36 minutes into the game, Israel Roland was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Los Humildes Geniales's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Douglas Haig the free kick. After 36 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Los Humildes Geniales! Tomas Bermudo placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! The supporters of Los Humildes Geniales booed when Douglas Haig was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Lesardo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eloy Sein, 46 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 48 minutes into the match, Agustin Ortzi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of David Froylan. Los Humildes Geniales's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Agustin Ortzi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cirilo Tono made a kick off. Fausto Lluc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cirilo Tono in the 58th minute of play. In the 61st minute Cirilo Tono shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fausto Lluc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Donato Elodio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Humildes Geniales's supporters rose to their feet, but Donato Elodio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fausto Lluc breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Douglas Haig's Fausto Lluc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donato Elodio in the 69th minute of play. David Froylan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustin Ortzi in the 88th minute of play. Tomas Bermudo shot from long distance in the 95th minute, but David Froylan was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. In the 97th minute, Donato Elodio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fausto Lluc was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1.
