The crowd rose to their feet as Eusebio Playo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gaudencio Cuartio. That made the score 1-0 in the 30 minute of play. Delmiro Rik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Venancio Roldan having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
