The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Saverio Martino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edelmiro Gelacio in the 29th minute of play. Orlando Ongile's late challenge caught a Ibarlucea FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Orlando Ongile helped the player get up and apologised. Carmelo Silviano placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! In the 42nd minute Angel Roldan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faustino Ferran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Angel Roldan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Faustino Ferran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benjamin Indalecio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Faustino Ferran having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edelmiro Gelacio made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angel Roldan in the 54th minute of play forced Robles's goalkeeper Faustino Ferran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Faustino Ferran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angel Roldan in the 56th minute of play. In the 59th minute, Edelmiro Gelacio fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The supporters of Ibarlucea FC booed when Robles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelo Ekain didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Angel Roldan came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Ibarlucea FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Angel Roldan couldn't finish the play. In the 64th minute, Sergio Herrera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Robles getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Benigno Bembe hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Robles's Orlando Ongile got a free kick in the 66th minute. Carmelo Silviano was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 67th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 69th minute Angel Roldan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faustino Ferran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Faustino Ferran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angel Roldan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Saverio Martino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edelmiro Gelacio in the 96th minute of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
