Faustino Ferran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonatan Tadzio in the 3rd minute of the match. Jonatan Tadzio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Faustino Ferran read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. With a little luck, Robles's Faustino Ferran got control of the ball when Eusebio Playo tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Domingos Nicholas came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Robles fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Domingos Nicholas couldn't finish the play. After having played for 16 minutes, Benigno Bembe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Robles's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benigno Bembe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 26th minute of the match C A Independiente got a corner. Robles's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joaquin Burni ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Eusebio Playo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Faustino Ferran quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After having played for 29 minutes, Benigno Bembe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 31st minute Benigno Bembe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Venancio Roldan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. C A Independiente's Venancio Roldan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benigno Bembe in the 46th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edelmiro Gelacio to strike the kick off in the second half. Patricio Hustaz hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Robles's Faustino Ferran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusebio Playo in the 53rd minute of play. Edelmiro Gelacio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Venancio Roldan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
