The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bruno Fagildo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bonifacio Garci, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, CSD Boedo's Luciano Ferrer got a free kick in the 8th minute. Erubiel Ariando fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Derya Yalazalp having to interfere. Sixto Oliverios kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Bruno Fagildo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bonifacio Garci in the 15th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aquiles Illart got free with Derya Yalazalp in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Aquiles Illart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Derya Yalazalp having to interfere. If Aquiles Illart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Anacleto Ponc fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CSD Boedo's protests and gave Anacleto Ponc a yellow card for diving instead. The goalkeeper, Derya Yalazalp, was totally fooled by Gimnasia LP 22's Alejandro Cefero, who 29 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 37 minutes into the game, Alejandro Cefero was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gimnasia LP 22's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CSD Boedo the free kick. In the 38th match minute, Gimnasia LP 22 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alejandro Cefero to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erubiel Ariando in the 41st minute of play forced CSD Boedo's goalkeeper Derya Yalazalp to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Aquiles Illart managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gimnasia LP 22's supporters rose to their feet, but Aquiles Illart was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Derya Yalazalp breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 47th play minute Aquiles Illart came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Derya Yalazalp. 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After having played for 56 minutes, Aquiles Illart managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gimnasia LP 22's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aquiles Illart was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eustacio Avellaneda kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Aquiles Illart sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Aquiles Illart might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Derya Yalazalp. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aquiles Illart ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 71st minute Erubiel Ariando shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Derya Yalazalp saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind CSD Boedo's goalkeeper Derya Yalazalp, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luciano Ferrer during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, CSD Boedo's Luciano Ferrer got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Erubiel Ariando received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Derya Yalazalp tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aquiles Illart couldn't finish the play. Gimnasia LP 22's Erubiel Ariando got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Aquiles Illart came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Gimnasia LP 22 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aquiles Illart couldn't finish the play. Erubiel Ariando recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Gimnasia LP 22 had played much better football throughout.
