Aristides Arixo came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by El Boca Juniors's Eduardo Enekoitz. But to his dismay, Eduardo Enekoitz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 32nd play minutes Efrain Elodio shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Edgard Donzel and just under the crossbar into goal. Clodoveo Eutropio might have been able to make a better finish in the 48th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aristides Arixo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Clodoveo Eutropio ran back to his position shaking his head. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Serafin Nastasio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Eduardo Enekoitz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aristides Arixo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Boca's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave El Boca Juniors the free kick. The supporters of El Boca Juniors booed when Boca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sanson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aristides Arixo had great luck who in the 77thth minute grab hold of the ball when Eduardo Enekoitz from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. 79 minutes into the match, Efrain Elodio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edgard Donzel. El Boca Juniors's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Efrain Elodio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Serafino Anaya's late challenge caught a Boca's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Serafino Anaya helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to El Boca Juniors getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Serafino Anaya hit a great ball. Edgard Donzel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Efrain Elodio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Clodoveo Eutropio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
