The audience was convinced that Erubiel Leheren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Antonio Argoitz was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Erubiel Leheren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Antonio Argoitz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roque Rencio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Luis Guillon Futbol Club's zone, Reynaldo Maties stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Antonio Argoitz came out of the goal and Reynaldo Maties tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. İsmail Zafer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Gauargi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Reynaldo Maties received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Antonio Argoitz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Igor Laffitte could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Antonio Argoitz made a huge save. After having played for 40 minutes, Reynaldo Maties managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La peste blanca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reynaldo Maties was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 41 minutes into the game, Erubiel Leheren cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Antonio Argoitz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Reynaldo Maties fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antonio Argoitz having to interfere. Erubiel Leheren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 67th minute Erubiel Leheren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antonio Argoitz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Reynaldo Maties had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 75th match minute, Luis Guillon Futbol Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilfredo Cai to maneuver through the defense. Antonio Argoitz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Reynaldo Maties's shot from short distance in the 76th minute.
