River Plate's Fabian Abeijon got control of the ball when Erubiel Acevedo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Honorato Txatxu kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. If Christian Artal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dionisio Gonchan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christian Artal in the 25th minute of play. Christian Artal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dionisio Gonchan having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Christian Artal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dionisio Gonchan was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. If Paolo Domeka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute, Emanuel Bizi made a precise shot to the right of Dionisio Gonchan. Mesada's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. When C.A. The supporters of Mesada booed when C.A. River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hermengildo Viviano didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Eusebio Teodor managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mesada's supporters rose to their feet, but Eusebio Teodor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fabian Abeijon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 54th minute, C.A. River Plate's Urbano Afonso seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Urbano Afonso the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of C.A. River Plate protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Urbano Afonso had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 55 played minutes C.A. River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Urbano Afonso. If Adrian Osmundo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 64 minutes of play, C.A. River Plate's Paolo Domeka made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dionisio Gonchan was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 74 minutes, Diego Cordarrol mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mesada and the C.A. River Plate players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Mesada getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Diego Cordarrol hit a great ball. 76 minutes into the match, Mesada's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Bizi came free, but Dionisio Gonchan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dionisio Gonchan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paolo Domeka, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Paolo Domeka fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dionisio Gonchan having to interfere. 87 minutes into the game, Florentino Rio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-6. Fabian Abeijon was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fabian Abeijon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Honorato Txatxu went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-6 was the resulting score. Fabian Abeijon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustin Vargas in the 95th minute of play. When the final whistle sounded C.A. River Plate left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Mesada.
