Spectators: 7231 (Terracing: 5425, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 143) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Eduardo Bide took the kick off in the first half of the match. When Joel Remir fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Amberes's protests and gave Joel Remir a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Fornes FC booed when Amberes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Remir didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Amberes's Eduardo Bide got a free kick in the 10th minute. Jose Ticho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clodoveo Cordarryl, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abel Bilbo hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Cirilo Cloyo, 16 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 22 minutes into the match, Amberes's goal looked a bit too open when Marcelo Sidro came free, but Albano Seber reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th minute, Silvano Eriz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jose Ticho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clodoveo Cordarryl, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Clodoveo Cordarryl managed to get in a good position for a shot. Amberes's supporters rose to their feet, but Clodoveo Cordarryl was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jose Ticho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Baldomiro Iraido hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Clodoveo Cordarryl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Jose Ticho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcelo Sidro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Albano Seber having to make a save. In the 48th minute, Denis Odilon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fornes FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1.

Amberes's Eduardo Bide got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 59 minutes, Denis Odilon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fornes FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Denis Odilon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Sidro in the 64th minute of play forced Amberes's goalkeeper Albano Seber to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amberes's Clodoveo Cordarryl got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Eduardo Bide took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Jose Ticho to make any attempt to save it. Marcelo Sidro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 79 minutes, Israel Paz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fornes FC and the Amberes players grew even worse after the yellow card. Israel Paz hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. When Remigio Kusko came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Amberes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Remigio Kusko couldn't finish the play. Albano Seber showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelo Sidro in the 94th minute of the match. The Amberes supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Amberes would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
