The audience thought a goal was coming when Victorio Nesor got free with Enrique Llanos in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gregorio Lazcano in the 42nd minute of play forced Ferro FC's goalkeeper Tadeo Abancens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joaquin Nazario blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tadeo Abancens having to make a save. Enrique Llanos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victorio Nesor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 71 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Inocencio Hats came free, but Enrique Llanos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Ferro FC's zone, Joaquin Nazario stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tadeo Abancens came out of the goal and Joaquin Nazario tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
