Fabio Bitxintxo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mario Kemen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabio Bitxintxo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Laureano Cucao showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ovidio Valente, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Ovidio Valente received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Laureano Cucao tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pedro Breogan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 47 minutes into the match, Grositos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Paulino Bonifaco came free, but Fabio Bitxintxo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paulino Bonifaco to make the kick off. After 52 played minutes Grositos FC got a freekick which was hit by Amancio Quintin. In the 53rd minute of the match Albano Azevedo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fabio Bitxintxo skillfully saved the ball. In the 55th minute Francisco Ranolfo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabio Bitxintxo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabio Bitxintxo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulino Bonifaco in the 57th minute of play. If Mario Kemen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ovidio Valente came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Grositos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ovidio Valente couldn't finish the play. In the 72nd minute Mario Kemen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabio Bitxintxo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Grositos FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Francisco Ranolfo during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Grositos FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
