Seating: 1200, VIP seats: 50) Paternal AFC's Nicanor Gagriel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Honorio Oliveiro in the 3rd minute of play. Los Linyeras de Merlo's Erubiel Curcio got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Los Linyeras de Merlo's Honorio Oliveiro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nicanor Gagriel. That made the score 1-0 after 6 minutes of play. After a defensive mix-up in Paternal AFC's zone, Honorio Oliveiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicanor Gagriel came out of the goal and Honorio Oliveiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gualterio Gaizko recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Clodoveo Eduino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvestre Chesus in the 16th minute of play. Jimeno Cristofol recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 24thth minute of the game Ceferino Honrio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Los Linyeras de Merlo's Clodoveo Eduino was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 26th minute, Honorio Oliveiro reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nicanor Gagriel. The goal made the score 2-0. The supporters of Los Linyeras de Merlo booed when Paternal AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baldomiro Nerio didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Honorio Oliveiro from long distance, 30 minutes into the match, got Nicanor Gagriel's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After having played for 31 minutes, Erubiel Curcio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Linyeras de Merlo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erubiel Curcio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Erubiel Curcio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Nicanor Gagriel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nicanor Gagriel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fidel Lain, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Erubiel Curcio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Gualterio Gaizko managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Linyeras de Merlo's supporters rose to their feet, but Gualterio Gaizko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicanor Gagriel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 47th minute, Gualterio Gaizko got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Erubiel Curcio was the one to do the kick off. When Jimeno Cristofol came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Los Linyeras de Merlo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jimeno Cristofol couldn't finish the play. Nicanor Gagriel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Linyeras de Merlo. Honorio Oliveiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Nicanor Gagriel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Epifanio Ostadar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicanor Gagriel having to interfere. Jimeno Cristofol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Nicanor Gagriel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Los Linyeras de Merlo's Erubiel Curcio got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Erubiel Curcio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicanor Gagriel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gualterio Gaizko in the 94th minute of the match. Jimeno Cristofol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Nicanor Gagriel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
