Virgilio Itzaina made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baldomiro Marquez in the 25th minute of play. LAS ESTRELLAS DE BANFIELD's Paulino Hegoi got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Igor Galtero got free with Baldomiro Nardo in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Virgilio Itzaina took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulino Hegoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paulino Hegoi in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Virgilio Itzaina prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 35th minute, Baldomiro Marquez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Virgilio Itzaina was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. El equipo del Gringo's Virgilio Itzaina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulino Hegoi in the 42nd minute of play. Paulino Hegoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Virgilio Itzaina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
